Carolyn Bessette and John F. Kennedy Jr. were married in a secret ceremony on Cumberland Island, Georgia. The vows took place in the candlelit First African Baptist Church in front of 40 guests. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Greyfield Inn, where the groom’s uncle, Ted Kennedy, gave a poignant toast.
