Ryan O’Neal Proposes to Farrah Fawcett

Ryan O’Neal is planning to marry his longtime love Farrah Fawcett.

“I’ve asked her to marry me, again, and she’s agreed,” O’Neal tells ABC News.

Fawcett is fighting for her life as she battles cancer, but O’Neal says they have made a promise to say “I do.”

“We will, as soon as she can, say yes,” O’Neal says. “Maybe we can just nod her head,” he explains with a laugh.

O’Neal and Fawcett have been together since 1980 but never officially tied the knot.

“I used to ask her to marry me all the time,” he says. “But … it just got to be a joke, you know. We just joked about it.”

With Fawcett’s condition deteriorating O’Neal says a wedding is in the works. “I promise you, we will,” he says. “Absolutely.”
