Prince William and Kate Middleton's Wedding Cake

The palace has released photos of Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s gorgeous eight-tiered wedding cake.

Made by Fiona Cairns, the cake was made out of 17 different individual fruit cakes covered in cream and white icing and decorated with up to 900 delicate sugar-paste flowers.

The cake was served at a reception hosted by the Queen at Buckingham Palace on Friday afternoon.

Prior to dessert, 650 guests dined on canapes, quail eggs with celery salt, cornish crab salad on lemon blini, pressed duck terrine with fruit chutney, bubble and squeak with confit shoulder of lamb, scottish langoustines with lemon mayonnaise, and pressed confit of pork belly with crayfish and crackling.
