Monica married Shannon Brown at Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles on July 9, 2011. The wedding took place in front of 340 guests including Nene Leakes, Ludarcris, Carmelo Anthony, Lala Vasquez, LL Cool J and Toni Braxton.

The bridal party included Ciara, Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher.

The bride’s two sons, Rodney and Romelo, served as ring bearers and arrived at the ceremony in a horse drawn carriage.

Monica walked down the aisle in a stunning wedding dress by Stephane Rolland. The corseted ivory mermaid gazar dress was draped with twisting satin organza and featured a graphic waves train embroidered with crystal falls. She accessorized with $1 million in Joel Rosenberg jewels.

Shannon wore a midnight blue tuxedo and bow tie by Astor & Black.

During the vows, a 40-piece gospel choir performed and singer Kim Burrell sang “I Look to You.”

Following the nuptials, a blue-themed wonderland reception planned by Mindy Weiss was held in the renovated 19th century cathedral. Mark’s Garden used purple and lavender roses and hydrangeas to create extravagant arrangements that filled the room.

The three-course sit down dinner menu included short ribs, swordfish and Nicolas Feuillatte champagne.

For dessert, a lemon horse-and-carriage cake by Charm City Cakes was served.

Jermaine Dupri spun R&B tunes from the DJ booth as guests danced until after 2 a.m.

For late night snacks, Fatburgers were served and a candy bar was set up featuring sweet treats with the bride and groom’s faces on them.

The couple honeymooned at the Viceroy Anguilla.

Monica and Shannon were originally married on November 22, 2010 in a private ceremony.
