“Dancing With The Stars” couple Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are planning their wedding for 2009. “He wants to get married before the end of the year,” Karina tells Hollyscoop.com. ”So far I’ve gone along with his ideas, and they’ve been good.”

The dancers, who got engaged on New Year’s Eve, are planning a big wedding with family and friends. “We have a lot of family,” Smirnoff says. “Our small engagement party turned into an eighty person party. It was mostly family.”

Although Karina is making many of the wedding decisions, Maksim is very involved. “He’s been so good,” she says. “A lot more agreeable since we got engaged actually.”

For now, the couple are splitting their time between wedding planning and the new season of “Dancing With The Stars” which premieres on March 9.
