Leann Rimes and Dean Sheremet Wedding
Dallas, Texas
February 23, 2002
Leann Rimes married Dean Sheremet on February 23, 2002 in Dallas, Texas. The wedding took place in front of 150 guests at Perkins Chapel on the Southern Methodist University campus.
A string ensemble played Handel’s “Air,” as Rimes walked down the aisle in an ivory Vera Wang strapless tulle gown holding a bouquet of red and white roses.
The groom waited for her at the altar in a gray Hugo Boss suit.
The couple exchanged vows in a traditional ceremony that focused on family and tradition. Photos were displayed in the church foyer in remembrance of relatives who could not attend. The bride also pinned a ring to her garter that belonged to her late grandfather.
A reception followed at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas, where guests dined on sushi, pasta and beef tenderloin.
Dessert was a white chocolate and strawberry wedding cake decorated with thirty-five dozen red roses, courtesy of Frosted Art.
Leann, who had been estranged from her father, Wilbur Rimes, for several years prior to her wedding day, shared a special moment with him as they danced to “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole.
Afterwards, guests joined them on the dance floor for Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand classics.
