‘Project Runway’ Winner Designs Wedding Dress for Kelly Ripa

When Kelly Ripa eloped in Vegas with Mark Consuelos in 1996, she didn’t get the chance to wear a wedding dress.
Thirteen years later, “Project Runway” winner Irina Shabayeva designed a custom wedding dress for Ripa as part of Regis and Kelly’s “Viva Live! Vegas.”
“You are the most inspiring designer,” Ripa said while modeling the stunning strapless dress. “You are unbelievable and this is so well made.”
Shabayeva, who won $100,000 from “Project Runway” to fund her own line, admitted she made the satin dress on short notice.
“Ideally I would have liked a couple of weeks,” she says. “But it took me about three days.”
On Tuesday’s episode, Ripa visited the wedding chapel where she originally said her vows.
