‘DC Cupcakes’ Star Katherine Kallinis Gets Married

What could be sweeter than the wedding of “DC Cupcakes” star Katherine Kallinis?
On September 17, 2011, the Georgetown Cupcake co-owner married Ben Berman at one of our favorite wedding spots ever, The San Ysidro Ranch, in Montecito, California.

Katherine walked down the aisle in an exquisite Vera Wang strapless Chantilly lace and French tulle wedding gown. Her sister and business partner, Sophie LaMontagne, wore a strapless midnight blue Monique Lhuillier gown with a pleated bodice and grayed swirl organza skirt. And to accessorize their look, the sisters each carried a Judith Leiber crystal-encrusted evening bag in the shape of what else? A cupcake!

The wedding came complete with a nine-foot tall wedding cupcake tower made of 5,000 cupcakes by Sophie, all a surprise for Katherine. And at the end of the evening, each guest was given a Meyer lemon cupcake with a hand-tied card attached that read “Sweet Dreams.”
Katherine will share her “I do” ingredients in a one-hour special, “DC Cupcakes: My Sweet Wedding,” airing this Friday at 10 p.m. EST on TLC.
