Today is June 1 and the first day of the busiest wedding month of the year. If you’ve ever wondered why so many weddings take place in June, the tradition began hundreds of years ago with Roman mythology. The month of June is named after Juno, the goddess of love and marriage. Historically, June was picked for good luck. Couples who marry in June are said to have long and happy marriages and are watched over by Juno.
