Jewel and Ty Murray Wedding

Jewel and Ty Murray Wedding

Paradise Island, Bahamas

August 7, 2008

Surprising family and friends, Jewel wed her boyfriend of ten years, rodeo champion Ty Murray, in a secret wedding in the Bahamas on August 7, 2008. The private ceremony which was held at The Cove Atlantis Resort.

The only guests in attendance were Amy Freese and her husband, Jason Freese, a bandmate of Jewel’s and the one who officiated the wedding. The couple exchanged their own vows on the beach in front of the resort.

Jewel wore Monique Lhullier‘s “Fabiana” lace halter gown and went barefoot. Ty wore a cowboy hat, white button down shirt and red cowboy boots.

After being pronounced husband and wife, they called their families and broke the good news.

Following the wedding, the couple enjoyed dinner at a table in the sand and enjoyed Bahamian lobster and chocolate bento boxes.

For dessert, a three-tier wedding cake was served with a cowboy and bride cake topper, which Jewel had purchased online in advance of the elopement.

At the end of the evening, the resort provided a surprise fireworks show for the newlyweds. The two danced in the sand as the sky lit up in red.
