Eric Johnson proposed to Jessica Simpson last week with a unique ruby engagement ring.

The Neil Lane stunner is estimated to be worth $85,000 and has a rare 3-carat center stone flanked by diamonds on each side. Jessica showed off the ring at an in-store appearance at Dillard’s in Kansas City over the weekend.

“This engagement ring has an even greater meaning for Jessica since ruby is her birthstone,” jewelry expert Michael O’Connor tells Celebrity Bride Guide. “The two full size white diamonds on each side are set in platinum, to maximize the stones’ brilliance.”
