Jen Schefft married Joe Waterman on May 15, 2009 in Chicago. The Friday evening wedding took place in a private room at Spiaggia Restaurant in front of 113 guests.

Jen walked down the aisle in a Carolina Herrera wedding dress and a pearl bracelet by Erin Gallagher. She clutched a bouquet of pink, purple and white ranunculus mixed with sweet pea and ixia.

The five bridesmaids wore strapless black dresses by Jenny Yoo.

The bride and groom read vows they had chosen themselves, and one of Jen’s friend read a poem called “Sooner or Later.”

At the conclusion of the 25-minute ceremony, the newlyweds walked back up the aisle to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed & Delivered.”

Following the vows, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors’doeuvres while the room was transformed into a romantic dining area with candles. Centerpieces consisting of pink and purple hydrangeas, tulips and peonies were placed on each table.

The couple shared their first dance to “Everything” by Michael Buble and enjoyed a dinner menu of Italian steak, Russian rainbow trout and boar-ragu gnocchi. For dessert, Sarah’s Candies created a four-tier red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.

Mark Rankin of DJ Chicago provided dance hits for the remainder of the evening. When guests left, they took home M&M’s with Joe and Jen’s faces printed on them.

The couple honeymooned at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea.
