Plan Your Own Royal Wedding

Royal wedding fever is in full effect with Prince William and Kate Middleton set to tie the knot in less than a month. Every bride deserves to feel like a princess on her wedding day, but you don’t have to be royalty to achieve that. Celebrity wedding planner, Yifat Oren, gives us tips on how to have your own royal wedding:

VENUE: Start with a superb location. A Chateau in the Loire Valley, a villa in Tuscany, a Palazzo in Rome, a private island, or for the real royals and celebrities, who are basically our own domestic form of royals, your wedding would take place at one of your homesteads. (Kevin & Christine Costner married at their ranch in Aspen, Colorado.) Either way, royal or celebrity, be sure to tighten up security.

INVITATIONS: Start with a refined cotton paper with gold gilded edges, engraved hand calligraphied, and hand delivered – the only regal way to go!

Regal Wedding InvitationGUEST LIST: The guest list of course should be of utmost importance. In addition to family and friends a guest list of other celebrities, musicians, prominent socialities and political figures are usually prevalent, as is the security details surrounding them.

WEDDING PHOTOS: Since the photos will be widely distributed, a team of professionals is a must. So called, ladies in waiting, in the form of professional makeup artist, hair stylist, and a stylist or two to help dress the bride, moms, bridesmaids, and even the groom, will ensure picture perfectness from every angle.

WEDDING CAKE: A statuesque, regal cake is a must. My very favorite in this genre are from baker extraordinaire Margaret Braun. Princess Diana and Prince Charles had a five layer wedding cake, Mariska Hargitay & Peter Hermann’s cake was over 5ft tall.

Yifat Oren has planned weddings for celebrities including Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth, Kevin and Christine Costner and Mariska Hargitay and Peter Herman. Yifat and her team create exquisite events, masterfully produced and distinctively designed. Defined by grace and impeccable attention to detail, the company has garnered widespread praise from media, industry experts and high-profile clients.
