If celebrity registries have taught us anything, it’s that practical household items like toasters and wooden spoons are a snooze.
According to The Daily Beast, Kim Kardashian shopped at famed Gearys Beverly Hills and racked up a whopping $172,000 in bridal registry items, including a $7,850 vase, which never saw the light of day (much like my Kitchen Aid one year later. Must get on that).
Kate Moss spent a reported $10,000 on a silk carpet. And Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner requested a $290 silver vegetable spoon, according to Perez Hilton. So who needs a blender when you can have Faberge eggs?
All you celeb-minded bridal registrants are in luck.
We recently spoke to Director of The Registry at Bloomingdale’s, Joanna Kartalis, to get her take on how to use that scanner gun like a star. Though Bloomies remains mum on the specific starlets they’ve worked with, Kartalis loves sharing her simple main tip: “Have fun! Feel like a kid in a candy store!” She adds, “You are the star of your own wedding! Everyone is focused on you – so choose everything that you love.”
One popular way to get a slice of celeb culture on your table is to register for clothing designer home items such as Kate Spade accessories. Bloomingdale’s launched celeb gown juggernaut Marchesa’s home collection and brides everywhere have been clamoring. The floral Palatial Garden and Painted Camellia patterns from Marchesa by Lenox are “favorites amongst our couples.”
