Happy Anniversary: Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn

Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn are celebrating their second wedding anniversary today. The couple were married at their Calabasas ranch on July 14, 2007. The wedding was a surprise to guests who were invited over for a backyard barbeque. Rebecca wore a Ralph Lauren wedding dress and walked down the aisle as a gospel choir sang Foreigner’s “I Want to Know What Love Is.”

How They Met: Jerry and Rebecca met at a party in 2004 while Romijn was scouting locations for a documentary she was producing. Jerry was interested in the project and asked to be a part of it. They started dating soon after and were spotted at an Al Green concert a few weeks later.

Engagement: The couple got engaged in 2005 while spending the weekend at Jerry’s apartment in New York. “It’s kind of scary because you’re popping the question,” Jerry said at the time. “It’s like a pop quiz, it’s a surprise question. So when I was first planning it I was like, ‘I’m gonna do it at a baseball game, I’m gonna do it at a Yankees game or Rebecca’s from Berkeley, do it in Oakland.’ And then you realize, because you’re popping the question, what if your significant other says no in front of 50,000 people? So I opted to do it very privately where if no happened I would be the only one who knew about it. It was just the two of us.”

The Ring: Jerry proposed with a six-carat oval shaped yellow diamond engagement ring by Simon G.

On Marriage: ”We have a lot of fun together,” Jerry says. “I really enjoy being with her. I think Rebecca really enjoys being with me.”
