“Kiss” frontman Gene Simmons proposed to his girlfriend of 28 years, Shannon Tweed, on the season finale of his A&E reality show Tuesday night, “Gene Simmons Family Jewels.”

“I come with so much baggage, but you’re the only friend I’ve got,” Simmons told a shocked Tweed. “You’re the only one I love …and you’re the only one I ever will love.”

In reality, the proposal took place a few months ago and the couple’s wedding plans are up in the air.

“Shannon and I work on our relationship every day,” Simmons posted on his Twitter page. ”One day at a time. Thanks for watching. When we figure out our lives, you will know.”
