Faith Hill and Tim McGraw were married on October 6, 1996 in Tim’s hometown of Rayville, Louisiana. Friends and family were invited for a softball game and benefit concert, not knowing they would be attending a wedding.
At high noon, Faith and Tim surprised everyone by standing under an oak tree and getting married by a minister. Faith wore a white designer wedding dress and went barefoot. Tim wore jeans and a black coat. Faith was three months pregnant with the couple’s first child, but they kept the news a secret.
Following the ceremony, they held a simple reception at Tim’s aunt’s home.
