Eva Longoria and Tony Parker Wedding
July 7, 2007
Eva Longoria married Tony Parker on July 7, 2007 in Paris, France. The wedding took place at The Church of Saint Germain l’Auxerrois in front of 250 guests, including Teri Hatcher, Nicollette Sheridan, Felicity Huffman, Jessica Alba and Ryan Seacrest.
The bride wore a $75,000 silk georgette and organza gown by Angel Sanchez , with ribbons of gazar metallic embroidery and a five-foot train. Her bouquet consisted of white phalaenopsis orchid stems and crystal blush calla lilies. She had nine bridesmaids, each donning a red Badley Mischka gown embellished with Swarovski crystals. The attendant dresses were the same shade of red, but each had a different design, in either a silk satin or silk chiffon.
The groom wore a suit provided by French designer De Fursac.
The couple exchanged vows in a traditional Roman Catholic ceremony officiated by Reverend Dominic Schubert. The ceremony honored the bride’s Mexican heritage with two traditions: an exchange of coins illustrating the groom’s ability to support her, and the lazo, in which a rosary is placed around the couple to symbolize their union.
Following the ceremony, red buses transported guests from the church to a reception at the 17th-century castle Vaux le Vicomte. The couple worked with wedding planner Mindy Weiss to transform the castle into a lavish red-themed affair, with tens of thousands of red roses and 2,000 candles.
The dinner menu was called “Crazy Red Passion” and included lobster medallion skewers in a gazpacho, sea bass filet with creamy truffle risotto and filet mignon with baby vegetables.
The couple shared their first dance to “Book of Love” by Peter Gabriel, before a ’70s band took the stage and played songs by Michael Jackson, James Brown and Stevie Wonder.
At midnight, a fireworks show lit up the sky, followed by the newlyweds cutting into a five-tier vanilla bean pound cake filled with crushed organic raspberry preserves and white buttercream, imported from California’s Perfect Endings.
The party then moved to an outdoor tent, where a DJ and an orchestra kept guests dancing all night. At 3 a.m., grilled cheese sandwiches, mini hotdogs, hamburgers and french fries were served.
Before heading back to their hotels, each female guest received a Van Cleef & Arpels Sweet Alhambra good luck bracelet crafted in 18-karat yellow gold.
The next morning, the newlyweds left for their honeymoon at Parrot Cay Resort on the Caribbean islands of Turks and Caicos.
Prior to the church wedding, the couple made it official at a civil ceremony officiated by the mayor at Paris City Hall. Longoria wore a pink empire-waist mini-dress as she arrived but changed into a white Chanel embroidered dress and tulle jacket before the ceremony.
On their wedding day, Longoria presented her groom with a custom-designed Piaget watch decorated with the number “9,” his San Antonio Spurs jersey number.
