Ellen DeGeneres Wins GLAAD Award for Wedding Day Episode

Ellen DeGeneres received the 2009 GLAAD Media Award for best talk-show episode for “Ellen and Portia’s Wedding Day.” The episode, which aired on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” in September, included Ellen talking about her wedding day and showing a video montage of highlights from the intimate backyard affair.

DeGeneres received the award on Saturday night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. She thanked her wife from stage saying, “Portia, I love you.”

DeGeneres married Portia de Rossi on August 16, 2008 at their Beverly Hills home.
