Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi Wedding

Ellen De Generes and Portia de Rossi were married at their $29 million Beverly Hills home on August 16, 2008. The intimate candelit ceremony was planned by Mindy Weiss and held in front of 19 family members and friends, including Ellen’s mother, Betty, and Portia’s mother, Maggie.

Both stars wore Zac Posen.. Portia chose a backless pink dress with cinderella tutu, and Ellen opted for white pants, a sheer white shirt and white vest.

The indoor ceremony took place just after 7 p.m. Both women sat on floor pillows in front of author, Wayne Dyer, who officiated the ceremony.

After exchanging self-written vows and platinum wedding bands designed by Neil Lane, the couple stood up and walked back down the aisle holding hands.

Following the ceremony, guests moved to the covered patio for a seated dinner. The long table was decorated with Ecuadorian rose and café au lait dahlia centerpieces by Mark’s Garden.

The group feasted on an all vegan menu prepared by Ellen’s personal chef, David Silberkleit, which included vegetable spring rolls and miniature “beef” sliders.

Dessert was a red velvet vegan wedding cake created by Sweet Lady Jane.

The couple shared their first dance to “Ribbon in the Sky,” by Stevie Wonder, in front of a backdrop of city lights and downtown L.A.’s skyline.

Later in the evening, Ellen surprised Portia with an acoustic performance by singer-songwriter Joshua Radin, who sang his ballad “Today.” Ellen had met Joshua at a charity event the weekend before and asked him to perform at the wedding after declining offers from George Michael and Justin Timberlake.

The couple stayed in Los Angeles following their wedding and enjoyed lunch the next day at Real Food Daily.
