“American Idol” Season 8 contestant Danny Gokey married Leyicet Peralta on Sunday evening in Coral Gables, Florida.

The wedding took place at the historic La Puerta Del Sol at Douglas Entrance. The private event space, built in 1927, has an opulent entry lobby and grand staircase where the couple posed for wedding photos.

Danny wore a black suit with a silver tie.

His model bride wore an off the shoulder strapless wedding dress with lace detail and white flowers in her hair.

Gokey proposed to Peralta on Christmas in Florida.

His first wife, Sophia, died in 2008 from complications during congenital heart surgery.

The newlyweds requested that all gifts be in the form of a donation to Sophia’s Heart, a foundation which honors Gokey’s first wife.
