When Chelsea Clinton ties the knot next weekend with Marc Mezvinsky, the price tag for the affair could cost $2 million.
According to ABC News, Clinton’s vendors may discount their rates in exchange for free publicity, but when all is said and done, the price tag for the wedding of the former President’s daughter will be in the seven figures.
Here are some of the more costly items in Chelsea’s wedding budget:
Venue: $125,000-$200,000 –The wedding will take place at Astor Courts, a sprawling mansion in Rhinebeck, New York that was built in 1902 for John Jacob Astor IV. The property is currently owned by Clinton donors and is for sale for $12 million.
Catering: $750,000 — Food will be provided by Blue Ribbon Restaurants, St. Regis Hotels and celebrity chef Olivier Cheng. At $500 a head for each company and 500 invited guests, the Clinton’s are looking at spending $1,500 per guest on food.
Flowers: $250,000 — Boston based Winston Flowers and Jeff Leatham, artistic director at the Four Seasons George V in Paris, will design the floral arrangements for the affair. Chelsea is said to like traditional arrangements and nothing too over the top.
Security: $30,000 — With A-list celebrities, world leaders, and President Obama on the guest list, security for the wedding will be extra tight. Typical private security costs for a celebrity wedding run about $30,000.
Wedding Dress: $15,000 — Clinton is rumored to be wearing a Vera Wang dress that could cost between $10,000-$25,000.
