“American Idol” season 5 alum Ace Young proposed to season 3 runner up Diana DeGarmo on stage at the show’s finale episode on Wednesday night.

“This has always been home to us and I felt that this would be the perfect place to ask a simple question,” Young said while getting down on one knee. “I love you to death. You’re my best friend. I want to make this last forever and I will do anything in my power to have the most … amazing life together if you will have me. Diana Nicole DeGarmo, will you marry me?”

An elated DeGarmo said “yes” as Young presented her with an engagement ring by David Webb with a yellow center stone weighing approximately 1 carat and two side diamonds.

Young and DeGarmo began dating in 2010 after starring in a revival of “Hair” on Broadway.

No wedding date has been announced.
